The women's tennis team took one more step towards a seventh consecutive American Rivers Conference championship this morning defeating Simpson College 7-0. It was a dominating performance by the Norse who combined, lost just two games in doubles play and two games in singles competition.
In doubles, the No. 3 team of
Cate Bright and
Ale Villanueva won (6-0). The No. 1 twosome of
Julia Moreno and
Abby Struble and the No. 2 team of
Julianna Mascardo and
Avery Schifsky-Seguin both won (6-1).
In singles,
Allie Christensen at No. 2,
Lena Lichau at No. 3,
Rafaela Queiroga Tavares at No. 4 and Schifsky-Seguin at No. 6 all won in straight sets (6-0, 6-0).Â

Luther has just three conference matches remaining on the schedule, all taking place next week. The first will be a home match against the University of Dubuque on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 the Norse are at Buena Vista University and on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
The Norse will now get in the vans and head to Northfield, Minn., for a non-conference match against Carleton College that begins at 3 p.m. this afternoon.
