DECORAH, Iowa — The Luther women's soccer team (4-4-1) wrapped up it's non-conference schedule falling to the University of River Falls (8-2) 2-0. The Falcons scored both goals in the first half, coming in the 14th and 44th minute.
The Falcons broke open the game in the 14th minute with a goal from Ellie Ketcher, assisted by Emery Bigler. Late in the half, UW-River Falls doubled their lead with a goal from Lexi Atkinson off the free kick in the 44th minute. Luther trailed 2-0 at halftime.
Elisabeth Queoff made six saves in the game with three in each half.
The Falcons had 13 shots compared to nine by the Norse.
Riley Anderson led the Norse with three shots.
This was the first meeting between the two teams since 2005.
The Norse begin American Rivers Conference play traveling to Dubuque, Iowa to take on the University of Dubuque on Saturday, Oct 4 with kickoff at 1 p.m.
