CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Joao Benvenutti and Julia Moreno were named American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Performers of the Week for their efforts on the tennis court last week.

The men's tennis team was at the A-R-C Individual Tournament held in Waverly, Iowa and Waterloo Friday, Sept. 19 through Saturday, Sept. 20. Benvenutti won the singles Flight A title defeating Bryton Short of Coe in a third set tiebreaker (5-3, 1-4 (10-3)). He also won in doubles Flight A with partner Abhay Chhabra who defeated their teammates Gregor Gottein and Jake Nelson 6-4. Full results of the A-R-C Individual Tournament.

Moreno and the women's tennis team earned a 7-0 victory over Loras on Tuesday, Sept. 16. She paired with Allie Christensen to win 6-1 over Mary Breitbach and Megan Covelli at no.1 doubles. Then over the weekend at the ITA Regional Tournament Moreno reached the round of 16 in both singles and doubles. In singles matches she went 3-1 and was 2-1 with Christensen in doubles.
