NORMAN, Okla. – On Tuesday, Luther men's golfers
Owen King and
Haakon Rustad were named 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars. Rustad is a three-time All-America Scholar honoree and the second in the program as a three-time honoree. King earns the honors for the first time in his career.
Rustad played all 21 rounds in his final season with a low round of 69 and average 75.3. He also became sixth player in program history to be a four-time American Rivers Conference all-conference honoree.
King earned his first all-conference honors this season playing in 18 rounds. His low round was 69 and he averaged 75.8.
Across NCAA Division III 202 athletes from 78 schools earned 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar Honors.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
