The women's tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over the University of Dubuque Spartans this afternoon in the valley. The Norse swept doubles play and won five of six singles matches en route to the victory.
This was the final home dual meet of the fall schedule for the Norse who will wrap up the American Rivers Conference schedule at Buena Vista University this Friday and Nebraska Wesleyan University on Saturday. The Norse (6-0, 7-1) are two wins away from capturing a seventh consecutive and final A-R-C title.Â
In doubles this afternoon, the No. 2 duo of
Lena Lichau and
Abby Struble, along with the No. 3 team of
Abby Ostermann and
Avery Schifsky-Seguin both won (6-0).
Allie Christensen and
Julia Moreno battled to a (6-4) win at No. 1
Lichau at No. 2, Christensen at No. 3, Moreno at No. 4,
Rafaela Queiroga Tavares at No. 5 and
Ale Villanueva at No. 6 all won in straight sets. Ostermann lost a hard-fought three set tie breaker to Molly Jex (3-6, 6-4, 5-10).
