DECORAH, Iowa - The Luther women's basketball improved to 5-1 in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) with a 84-83 victory over Simpson. The Storm hit a three-pointer with 59 seconds in the contest to pull ahead 83-82. On the next drive by the Norse,
Kate Hosking hit a jump shot to overtake the lead. The Storm had the final possession of the game but missed the winning shot as
Kailey Jones corralled the rebound.
Hosking led the Norse setting a new career high of 23 points.
Natalie Beaver went 8-16 from the floor for 18 points.
Haylie Strum had 13 points. Jones had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Norse defeat the Storm for the first time since Jan. 29, 2020 (73-63).
The Storm were led by Molly Lutmer who scored 27 points.
Luther is now 12-3 overall while Simpson is now 7-8 overall and 3-3 in the A-R-C.
