Andera, Bockenstedt, and Gill Not Enough In Loss To Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Luther men's basketball team fell to Nebraska Wesleyan 82-54 on Saturday. The Prairie Wolves scored 47 points in the second half. Ben Gill, Jeremy Andera, and Will Bockenstedt chipped in double-digits. The Norse are 5-13 overall and 0-9 in the American Rivers Conference. 

Nebraska Wesleyan began the game on a 7-0 run before Gill answered with a dunk with 17:13 for the first Norse points of the game. Then as the half reached the midway point the Prairie Wolves were up 22-9 for a 13-point lead. Andrew Lazinbat started a 10-0 run for the Norse to cut the lead to three with 7:31 to go. However, Nebraska Wesleyan extended their lead once again for a 35-21 lead at halftime. 

Randal Days kicked off the have with a jump shot. The Prairie Wolves answered with a 12-point run but Andera stopped the bleeding. At 9:22 left Nebraska Wesleyan had their largest lead of the night at 29 for a 60-31 advantage. Two minutes later a three from Eros Carpio helped cut the lead to 62-41 but that would be the closet the Norse would get. The Prairie Wolves get the win 82-54 improving their record to 16-2 overall and 7-2 in the A-R-C.

  • Gill with 12 points, four rebounds and one block.
  • Andera had 11 points for a season high. 
  • Bockenstedt chipped in ten points for a season high. 
  • Daniel Webster led the team in rebounds with six. 
  • Lazinbat had a team high seven assists.
