ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - The Luther women's basketball team routed Crown College 85-65 on Monday. Four players posted double-digits for the Norse including
Kailey Jones and
Haylie Strum each with 13,
Jordan Rubie with 11 and
Lizzie Kauls with 10. Luther's win streak is now at seven as they improve their record to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in the American Rivers Conference.
Chelin Isaacson grabbed the offensive rebound and scored on the opening possession for the Norse. Crown answered with a three pointer to take their first lead of the game at 8:13. The Norse didn't let that lead last long going on a 14-5 run making it 18-8. Luther continued the offensive pressure for a 25-11 lead after ten minutes of play.
The Norse continued to build their lead through the second quarter as they added another 21 points. Heading into the locker room Luther was leading 46-25. Jones and Strum had 11 points to their total.
Out of the break Luther had strong quarter with their best shooting percentage from the floor at 61.5 percent. They also were 7-8 from the line for another 24 point quarter.
Then in the final quarter a jump shot from Strum gave the Norse a 34 point lead at 77-43 with 7:15 left in the game. Crown began to chip away at the lead but it wouldn't be enough to catch Luther.
Emilee Burcham would score the final points of the game on a layup with 16 seconds left. The Norse won the game 85-65 for their seventh straight as they have not lost since Nov. 25.
As a team Luther shot 48.4 percent from the field, and 87.5 percent from the charity stripe. The Norse had over half of their points come in the paint with 46 and 39 were chipped in by the bench.

- Sturm also had six steals and four rebounds. She led the team in steals and ranks second in the conference.
- Jones led the team in rebounds with seven total.
- Calie Mundahl scored her first points of the season.

The Norse are back in action again on Tuesday, Dec. 19. They will play North Central (MN) at 5 p.m. in Minneapolis, Minn.
