CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - The Luther men's soccer team came from behind to beat Coe 2-1 on Saturday. After the Kohawks scored early in the first half it was Raul Ferrandez who tied the game at 1-1 in the 65th minute. Then
Ramzi Ouro-Akondo scored the game winner in the 84th minute securing three points for the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) standings. With the win Luther is 6-4-1 overall and 4-1-1 A-R-C.
Coe scored in the 6th minute forcing Luther to play from behind. The Norse couldn't find a goal in the opening forty-five minutes as the Kohawks had the 1-0 advantage at halftime.
Then in the 65th minute Raul Ferrandez found the equalizer burying it low and to the right tying the game at 1-1.
Later, a free kick was give to the Norse near the top of the box.
Ramzi Ouro-Akondo stepped up, launching his shot into the upper left hand corner of the net. Luther had the lead for the first time in the game in the 84th minute. The Norse held on to secure a 2-1 victory.
Jack Bell recorded four saves.
Luther improves to 6-4-1 overall and 4-1-1 A-R-C.
