COLFAX, WIS. – The men's and women's cross-country teams were back in action at the Blugold Invitational. The women ran a 6km and finished 12^th overall as a team. While the men's team finished 6^th overall in the 8km run.
 
BACK ON THE COURSE
 
The women's 6km run kicked off the invitational with Ana Goellner (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) leading the Norse coming in 54^th place overall. Alyssa Blankenship (Columbia Falls, Mont./Columbia Falls) followed closely behind in 57^th with a time of 24:12.75. Steph Lewis (135^th) (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine), Sarah Grams (151^st) (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy), Sarah Schmidt (157^th) (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) rounded out the top five runners that scored with 359. The team ran well finishing in 12^th place out of 25 total teams competing on the course.   
 
In the men's 8km event Ian Kelly (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) claimed a top ten finish finishing in 8^th. Tom Altier (17^th) (Granger, Iowa/Johnston), Adam Koller (40^th) (Worthington, Minn./Worthington), Lane Schwarz (72^nd) (Le Suer, Minn./Le Suer-Henderson), Kaeden Fellingham (88^th) (Olathe, Kan./Olathe South) also scored points for the Norse with a team total of 186. This is the men's team second top ten finish overall finishing in 6^th out of 25 teams.

TOP NORSE
 

• Junior Ana Goellner (Mankato, Minn. /Mankato West) was the first Norse woman to cross the line with a time of 24:09.63. This is the second time this season that she led the way for the women's team.
• Senior Ian Kelly (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) took the top spot for the Luther finishing in 8^th overall with a time of 25:05.70. This is the second time this season that he has finished within the top 10 runners in a meet.
