Luther College faced Amherst College in its spring trip opener to Clermont, Florida. The Norse are scheduled to play 12 games in the next six days.
Amherst jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to an rbi single in the third and a two-run home run in the fifth. The Norse responded with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Belle Berg, who started the frame with a walk, advanced to third following a single by
Morgan Hogenson. Berg scored on a throwing error by the catcher.
Emily Fell drove in Hogenson with a double down the left-field line.Â
The Norse tallied six hits,
Kyal Heydt had the lone multiple hit game going 2-for-3 at the plate.
The loss gives Luther an overall record of 4-3. Amherst improved to 5-2.
Luther will faced Lawrence University this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. EST.
