Luther improved to 5-3 following a 16-1 victory over Lawrence University in five innings this afternoon in Claremont, Fla. The Norse had 14 hits and scored nine runs in the top of the fifth.
Emily Versnik led the attack with four rbi.
Kyal Heydt drove in three runs, while Sydnay Schultz,
Anna Dietrich and
Leah Crown all drove in two.
Morgan Hogenson and
Abby Spore were also credited with an rbi.
Sam Thompson (3-1) picked up the win in the circle. Thompson allowed one run on three hits, walked four and struck out one in three innings of work.
Abbey Gapinski threw the final two frames and retired all six batters she faced.
The Norse will return to action tomorrow when they will face No. 10 Tufts University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
