Luther faced Bethany Lutheran University in game two of the Kwik Trip Invitational. The Norse jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Vikings answered with four in the botton half of the first and two in the second to tie the score at 6-6. Luther posted its final run of the game in the fifth, only to see the Bethany Lutheran score one if the fifth and two in the sixth to secure the come-from-behind 9-7 victory.
Belle Berg and
Kyal Heydt both had two rbi. Berg was 1-for-4 and Heydt was 2-for-4.
Morgan Hogenson and
Leah Crown were also credited with an rbi.
The loss gives Luther an overall record of 0-2.
The Norse will return to action on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 26-27, when they will play four games at the Rochester Dome, Rochester, Minn. On Saturday the Norse are scheduled to play Cornell College (IA) at 4:00 p.m. and Macalester College at 6:00 p.m. Sunday they will face St. Olaf College at 2:00 p.m. and Grinnell College at 4:00 p.m.
Fans are allowed to attend the games in the Rochester Dome but will be required to wear masks as mandated by the state of Minnesota.
