Women’s Cross Country finishes sixth at A-R-C Championship

INDIANOLA, IOWA – The women's cross country team finished 6th overall in the 6k event. Ana Goellner (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) finished 28th leading the Norse runners.
 
NARROW COURSE
On a narrow and hilly course in Indianola the women's cross country team finished 6th overall with a score of 160. The Norse were led by junior Ana Goellner (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) finishing in 28th, sophomore Sarah Schmidt (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) in 31st, senior Steph Lewis (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine) 32nd, sophomore Sarah Grams (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) in 34th and sophomore Alyssa Blankenship (Columbia Falls, Mont./Columbia Falls) 35th. Wartburg finished first followed by Loras in second and Central in third.

  • Junior Ana Goellner (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) continues to led the Norse this season with a time 24:46.96.
  • Sophomore Sarah Schmidt (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) got a new PR with a time of 25:08.76.
UP NEXT
The Norse host the Saga Cup at home with the race beginning at 4:15 p.m. CT on Friday November 4th. It's the NCAA Division III Midwest Championships on November 12th at the Northwestern Medicine Cross Country Course in Geneva, Illinois. Race time is at 11 a.m. CT.
