DECORAH, IOWA – Both teams were evenly matched coming into contest but in the end the Norse fell to the Pioneers 1-3.
QUICK GOALS
On breezy fall evening the two teams met under the lights. The Norse had a big test of them with an eight-game winning streak for the Pioneers. Luther would get on the board first in the 30
th minute with
Marcos Vila (Madrid, Spain/I.E.S San Fernando) passed it to
Ben Bolte who slotted it in for games' first goal. With the assist

th assist of the season putting him in the career top-ten list for assists in a single season tied with five other alumni. But under a minute later the Pioneers answered right back with a goal from Konrad Ziaja. It was all even up a 1-1 at the half.
In the second half the Norse put up several great shots but not one could find the back of the net. Then in the 70
th minute the Pioneers got ahead of the Norse defense to score there second of the game from Isaac Petersen. UW-Platteville would follow it up with another insurance goal a minute later this time from Danny Gutzwiller. In the final twenty minutes Luther couldn't find answer. UW-Platteville wins 3-1.
TOP NORSE
- Junior Ben Bolte (Pasadena, Calif./Loyola) scored the lone goal for the Norse for his fourth of the season.
- Sophomore Jack Bell (Madison, Wis./Madison Memorial) made a total five saves on the night. Including a spectacular kick save in the first half with his right foot.
