Gerdin Fieldhouse

The Gerdin Fieldhouse for athletics and wellness is a renovation of the former Regents Center. A historic $10 million gift from Michael Gerdin '92 and Nicole Gerdin and the Gerdin Charitable Foundation. This is the largest individual gift in the college's history, which will serve as the lead gift toward the expansion and renovation of the Regents Center, home to Norse athletics and the center for sports and recreation at Luther College. The renovation is set to modernize athletic facilities, create more gathering spaces, and revitalize recreational spaces and locker rooms.

The fieldhouse will also see renovation of the main gym. A $2 million gift from Dennis and Suzanne Birkestrand to support renovations within the college's Regents Center Gymnasium. In recognition of the family's generosity, the court will be renamed the Birkestrand Family Court. It will become the competition space for Luther volleyball, men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's wrestling. The new court will flip directions and have arena style seating for 1650. Additional practice courts will be along side the court. The court is set to open Fall 2025.
