McDonough went 6-1 in the month of December as the Norse went 5-2 overall to close the first half of the season.
Earlier this week he was named the American Rivers Conference wrestler of the week for his performance at the Gator "Boot" Duals in Nashville, Tenn. on Dec. 21 after going 4-0 in the duals.
He picked up three wins by fall, two tech falls and one major decision.
