Brian Huinker

Brian Huinker returned to Luther College as the women's golf coach in July 2022. 

Huinker previously served as Luther's head men's tennis coach from 2001 to 2011 and the head women's tennis coach from 2005 to 2011. During this time, Huinker was named the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) Coach of the Year eight times and led the Norse to multiple conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearances. "Brian found success both on the courts and in the business world, and I have no doubt he will continue to find success with our women's golf program."

After his stint with Norse tennis, Huinker moved to the business world and was a benefits consultant and became a partner in 2018 of Group Benefit Partners. Over the last five years Group Benefit Partners expanded their footprint to have five locations in Iowa and 35 employees. He additionally served on numerous local boards, was President of the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as the Vice President on the board of Oneota Country Club, Luther's home golf course. 

A native of Decorah, Iowa, Huinker graduated from Central College in 2000 and received his Master's degree from Minnesota State University Mankato in 2003. His wife Amanda ('04) is an adjunct faculty member of the Luther College education department, and they share three children.
