Kretz holds the distinction of being named the Swimmer of the Meet at the first official A-R-C Swimming and Diving Championships in 2023…the past two years he has earned 13 all-conference (top-3 finishes) honors…he was crowned the conference champion in the 50 freestyle (2023), twice in the 100 freestyle (2023, 2024), and once in the 200 freestyle (2023) and the 800 freestyle relay (2023)…he currently ranks second all-time in the 50 freestyle (20.97), third in the 100 freestyle (46.47), third in the 100 IM (56.22), sixth in the 200 freestyle (1:43.70), fifth in the 50 backstroke (23.72), and eighth in the 50 backstroke (24.96)…Chi Alpha Sigma inductee…transferred to Luther from the University of Iowa…while at Fairfield High School he lettered four times in swimming, three times in track and field and once in baseball…three times he was named the Team MVP in swimming…he was also named team MVP in baseball…during his swimming career he set one school record, one pool record and two conference records…class Valedictorian…member of the National Honor Society…son of Andrew and Elisa Kretz.
