Luther College

2022-23: Walz impressed in his second season with the Norse, earning All-Conference and A-R-C Athlete of the Week honors for his performance in the pool. He earned top-6 finishes in three different individual races at the conference championships, including a second place finish in the 1650 freestyle race. Walz also swam the fastest time in the 500 freestyle prelims before finishing fourth in the race in finals. He earned Academic All-Conference honors at the end of the season. 

High School: Multiple year letter winner while at Mayo High School. He was a Big 9 Conference all-conference honoree twice during his career. Walz was a member of the 200 and 400 freestyle relays that established team records and swam on two section championship teams.
