FAYETTE, Iowa – The Luther women's wrestling team wrestled in duals for the first time ever in program history at a triangular hosted by Upper Iowa. The Norse were defeated by Morningside University 18-16 and Upper Iowa 21-20.
Kylie Miller was undefeated on the night with two wins by fall.
Morningside 18, Luther 16
The Mustangs won at 110, 124, 131, and 138. Both teams forfeited at 145.
Kylie Miller won at 160 over Baylie Wehmeyer by fall (5:30). Luther won the next two matches at 180 and 207 by forfeit.
Upper Iowa 21, Luther 20
The Peacocks were leading 20-10 when
Kelsey Knief and
Kylie Miller by fall at 180 and 207. With the match tied at 20-20 Upper Iowa was awarded a team point to claim the victory in the dual.
The tiebreaker is the first move scoring two or more points in the dual meet which was awarded to Kylee Shoop who scored the first four points at 131 for the Peacocks.
Up next the Division III National Invite hosted by Augustana (Ill.) which takes place on Saturday, Feb. 7 through Sunday, Feb. 8 in Rock Island, Ill.
