ATLANTA, Ga. – The Luther College divers found no shortage of success during the 2022-23 season. Over the weekend, the duo of Colin Halverson (Oak Creek, Wis. / Oak Creek) and Jack Bell (Madison, Wis. / Memorial) faced their toughest challenge of the season, as they competed in the NCAA Lower Midwest Regional Diving Zones at Emory College in Atlanta, Georgia. Against one of the toughest fields in Division III athletics, Halverson and Bell put up impressive numbers, closing their season with strong performances at the regional meet.
DAY ONE: 1-METER COMPETITION
Both Halverson and Bell earned top-25 performances in the 1-meter competition, overcoming a long day of travel (and an ice storm) to finish 18th and 21st respectively. In his NCAA Regional debut, Halverson finished in 18th with an 11-dive score of 356.65, averaging 32.42 points per dive during the day. Bell improved on his first trip to Regionals as a freshman in 2021-22, as he finished 21st with an 11-dive score of 310.30.
DAY TWO: 3-METER COMPETITION
Both Halverson and Bell recorded top-20 finishes on the second day of competition, as they concluded their weekend with the 3m competition on Saturday. Bell earned an 18th place finish thanks to his 11-dive score of 324.10, while Halverson finished 20th with a score of 284.30.
