The 2023 American Rivers Conference Women's Golf Championship is in the books. The 54-hole tournament was played at the Ames Golf & Country Club. Forty-four players completed the three-day tournament on the par 72 track.
The University of Dubuque had four players finish in the top-five and claimed its fourth conference title in the past five years. The Spartans shot (313-314-309-936). Central College, last year's champion, finished second (317-314-333-964), while Coe College finished third (324-309-333-966).
The Spartans Leah Balsbaugh was the tournament medalist (81-77-74-232) and finished one-stroke ahead of teammates Brook Dunjes and Mary Edwards who tied for second at 233.
During the first two rounds, Luther recorded back-to-back season low rounds. The Norse shot 345 on Saturday and followed with a 344 on Sunday. Their previous low was a 347 at the season opening Kohawk Classic. The Norse shot 353 this afternoon for a 1042 and finished seventh in the team standings.
Individually,
Annemarie Schloo finished in a four-way tie for 13th. Schloo shot 247 carding rounds of 83-82-82. The final two rounds tied her season low.
Completing the Norse five included Teagen Schaefer who finished alone in 17th (82-84-83-249);
Samantha Suski tied for 35th (87-93-94-274);
Tori Schnell was 37th (93-90-94-277); and
Anna Barbknecht was 38th (95-88-95-278).
