It was the first round of the American Rivers Conference six-team tournament and the No. 4 seed Wartburg College defeated No. 5 Luther 9-2 this afternoon in Storm Lake, Iowa.

The Knights scored four times in the bottom of the first, added a run in the third and put four more runs on the board in the sixth.

Kyal Heydt produced an rbi single in the third that scored Leah Crown in the third. Two innings later, Crown scored for the second time when Emily Fell was thrown out second to first in the fifth.

The Norse compete their season with an overall record of 21-14. Wartburg advanced to the semifinals of this single elimination tournament and will face the No. 1 seed Buena Vista University tomorrow.
