Luther scored in four of five innings en route to an 8-0 victory over Augustana-Rock Island this afternoon in Clermont, Florida. This was the final game for the Norse who will return home tomorrow, after posting a spring trip record of 7-3, improving to an overall mark of 11-5.
The Norse posted three runs in the first, one in the third and two in both the fourth and fifth frames.
Emily Fell and
Belle Berg both drove in two runs, while
Sydney Schultz,
Abby Spore,
Kyal Heydt and
Emily Versnik all drove in one.
Kendra Cooper (4-3) threw a two-hit shut out. Cooper faced 19 batters, issued two walks and struck out eight.
Luther will return to action on Wednesday, March 30 when it will travel to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for a double header that will begin at 2:00 p.m.
