The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther College junior pitcher Kendra Cooper (Lansing, Iowa/Kee High) has been named the Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021. This is the second time of her career she has been so honored.
Cooper picked up two wins in the circle this past week improving her season record to 3-0. She threw a complete game shutout against St. Norbert College striking out 10, walking two, and spreading out six hits in the 5-0 Luther victory. The next day she threw five scoreless innings to defeat the previously unbeaten St. Scholastica Saints 8-0, striking out six and allowing only four hits.
Combined with her first start of the season, she has not allowed an earned run in 17 innings of work, striking out 25 and walking four.
Luther wrapped up the week with an overall record of 4-2.
