The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther College sophomore Max Loen (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) has been named the league's Men's Tennis Performer of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 1. This is the second time he has been so honored.
Luther went 3-0 this past week to claim the 2022 American Rivers Conference title outright. The Norse defeated Wartburg (9-0), Buena Vista (9-0), and Nebraska Wesleyan (9-0). The Norse won the conference title after completing a perfect 8-0 season for the second consecutive year. The title was a conference record 33rd in program history.
Loen played in the Wartburg match and helped lead the Norse to their victory. At No. 1 Singles, Loen defeated Lucas Huffman (6-3, 6-3). At No. 1 doubles, Loen and his partner Luke Westholder (Fr., Edina, Minn.) defeated Huffman and Jackson Eells (8-3).
