The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther College junior Nyathi Motlojoa has been named the league's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020.

Motlojoa was selected for this honor after winning the 2020 American Rivers Conference Men’s Tennis Individual Tournament A-flight Singles. In this year’s A-Flight’s round-robin format, with 8-game pro-set scoring, the junior went 5-0, dropping just 10 games. Motlojoa defeated fellow Norse teammate Cole Schneider (8-4) to clinch the gold medal.

During his previous four rounds, Morlojoa defeated Reade Reiter of Simpson (8-3), Ryan Carey of Nebraska Wesleyan University (8-1), Kevin Blomquist of Loras (8-0), and David Boschma of Central (8-2).

The A-R-C Men's Tennis Individual Tournament was the first competition for the majority of the competitors since March of 2020 when all NCAA III competition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
