The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther College sophomore midfielder Megan Munger (Prior Lake, Minn.) has been named the women's soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 11, 2021. This is the first time she has been so honored.
Munger scored four goals this past week and had two game winners, as Luther defeated Coe (5-0) and Nebraska Wesleyan (3-1). She scored two goals in each match and now has a total of seven for the year. She currently ranks second in the A-R-C in this category.
In the victory over the Kohawks, she netted her two goals on three shots. She scored the first goal of the contest at 10:22 assisted by Maggie Haller (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle). Her second goal came at 57:40 assisted by Samantha Och (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville).
Against Nebraska Wesleyan, she scored the final two goals, the first unassisted at 34:54. Her second goal was at 66:19, assisted by Haller and Kelly Fiedler (Eagan, Minn./St. Paul Academy).
The two victories gives Luther a league record of 3-1.
