DECORAH, Iowa – Annemarie Schloo of women's golf and Sean Medcalfe of football have been named the October LetterWërks Athletes of the Month.
 
Schloo finished fourth place at the 2025 American Rivers Conference Women's Golf Championship which took place Oct. 11-13 at Glynns Creek Golf Course in Long Grove, Iowa. She shot rounds of 77-83-78 for a total of 238. This was her second top-10 finish this season and she is the first Norse golfer to earn all-conference honors since 2021.
 
Medcalfe set the school record for the longest field goal against Wartburg on Oct. 4. His 51-yard field goal broke the previous record of 50 yards which was held by Ted Rohlwing against Simpson in 1988. It also marked his new career long for a field goal.
 
The LetterWërks Athlete of the Month award looks to honor and highlight Luther student-athlete achievements throughout a given month of competition.
